Shine Light on Fears

Today is the New Moon of Leo. I’ve written before about how powerful the New Moon time is. This is when we have the chance to set new goals, assess our progress with past goals, and go deep within ourselves to ask for enlightenment, support and guidance from the Universe. We get this opportunity every 28 days when the New Moon rolls around.

Even if your sign isn’t Leo, the Leo energies are very much having an effect on every single one of us.

Partly because it’s a fire sign, Leo is one of those unstoppable forces of nature. Its power lies in the influence it has over the Will. Here is a question to ponder in your meditations now: What are you willing to make happen in your life?

With this energy, we’re encouraged to let our inner child out to play in the Sun. Everyone wants to play now! Leo rules our passions, our unique talents and our natural abilities. Symbolized by the lion, we also feel more courageous now, more confident, and braver than we did perhaps last month. Our natural abilities surface now and are given center stage. There’s often a lot of high drama taking place under this influence along with an increased desire to be the center of attention.

Leo energy opens our hearts wide. This is a very generous and loving influence as we all take a little time out from our daily routine to bask in the Sun’s rays (with sunscreen of course!) and allow the Light to stream into every cell of our Being.

When our hearts open with Leo we are much better able to face whatever fears we have. You know how when you’re having a bad dream and you wake up, turn on the light, and all the frightening images flee with the light? That’s how Leo helps us now. The Light is turned on deep within us and the fears are forced to come out of the shadows. You have the chance now to either examine them more closely “in the light of day,” or you may find they simply cannot exist in the intense Light of Leo, and so they disappear.

As a business owner, I face my fears every day. Will I be able to help this client grow today? Will I be able to pay my bills? Will I be able to handle 10 more clients? With this wonderful Leo influence, I feel en*couraged to push past my fears. I find that my heart is more willing now to accept challenges that my mind may not actually be ready for just yet.

I recommend having some fun with this Leo energy. Wear bright colors now like yellows and golds and oranges and reds, the more dramatic the better. Let your Light shine, keeping in mind of course that the Light shines through you, not from you. Be playful at work; make a game of getting through your To-Do list. Lighten up!

Give yourself permission to let your hair down—that mane of brave Leo the Lion. Be bold now. Be daring and express yourself…of course always with loving kindness and a willingness to be all that you were put here to be.
